Having completed the interior reconfiguration, construction and finishing, as shown in a separate project, the client required full re-design, specification and implementation of landscaping of the outdoor areas.
With the new build house being ultra contemporary, the client wanted an outdoor design to create an oasis of calm on the upper level and a sunken garden below the bridge to the main house to be an entertaining space for regular parties. An ancient obelisk was retained from the the historic grounds, and surrounded by 21st century features.
Complete with two fire tables, a full bar and outdoor kitchen and a sunken jacuzzi, the grounds are now fit for long parties, as well as relaxing, lazy Sunday afternoons, in sun traps and shady nooks. It had to be relatively low maintenance, as our client travels extensively for business, so we used a combination of natural and artificial landscaping elements.
As the client descends the stairs, they are met with a waterfall with a composed stream that gently falls onto a bed of rocks, producing a calming music that sets the tone for following respite.
With a barbecue and a mini fridge (and a sink to put all sanitary worries to bed), all needs of the party host and guests are well met without the need to climb the stairs and walk the bridge.
With careful planning and skilled craftsmanship, we constructed a peaceful and private oasis for relaxation and entertainment. Our designers also made sure that it is in full view of the master bedroom so the client can always see the luxury they work so hard for.
